
Paul Powell is working on the continuous improvement of the organization’s instructional approach and materials. He is currently a Program Director with Teach For America where he administers support to 50 secondary math and science teachers in New York City. Prior to working for Teach For America Paul was a corps member in Los Angeles where he taught high school mathematics for two years. Paul is motivated by a belief that our less affluent urban youth must graduate high school with academic and life knowledge on par with their more affluent counterparts. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Goucher College as well as a Masters of Arts degree in Math Education from Loyola Marymount University.
Jonathan Skolnick currently focuses on curriculum development as well as recruitment and assessment. He is currently a senior strategist and curriculum developer with Omnilearn, Inc., which develops and delivers hands-on science technology programs for schools in the New York metropolitan area. For two years, Jonathan was a New York City Teaching Fellow at Washington Irving High School where he served as a coordinator for the school's successful participation with Cents Ability. During his time at Washington Irving, he served as a member of the school's professional development committee and coordinated a Kaplan SAT tutoring program through New York Cares. He received a B.A. from Brown University in 2004 and an M.A. in education from Pace University in 2006.
Matt is a Senior Associate at Investor Growth Capital, a $1.8 billion venture capital fund based in New York City, where he focuses on investments in the internet and digital media sectors.
Prior to joining IGC, Matt spent three years with Canaan Partners, a multi-billion dollar venture capital firm, where he was responsible for early-stage investment activity across a broad spectrum of technology industries. Before joining Canaan Matt worked in the technology banking group of Credit Suisse First Boston, and prior to that as a corporate finance analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Matt holds a BA with Honors in history from Harvard University, where he graduated after three years of study.
Matt currently serves as a Director on the Board of Dotomi and is a Board observer at ContextWeb, ID Analytics and Greenway Medical Technologies.
