John Moore, Founder

John is the Community Manager at Zecco, a broker dealer with a social network for investors.  Prior to Zecco, John worked in strategy and product development for Charles Schwab and spent three years in marketing at The Citigroup Private Bank.  John started his career at AXA Financial where he was a product manager in the Technology Training Program.

John holds a BA in Psychology from Harvard University.

Alexa du Pont Bell, Co-Founder

Alexa is Director of Online Revenue at RecycleBank, a loyalty program that rewards households for recycling. Prior to RecycleBank, Alexa did strategy and business development for GoldPocket Wireless (acquired by Motricity) and spent four years as an Associate at RRE Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early to mid-staged information technology companies. Alexa started her career as as investment banker at UBS in the Telecom/Media/Technology group.

Alexa holds a BA with Honors in Psychology from Harvard University, where she was Commodore of the Radcliffe Varsity Crew.  She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. 

Braden Ferrari

Braden Ferrari joined Avalon Group Ltd. as Co-President Capital Markets, Investment Banking in April 2009.  He provides public mid-size and micro-cap companies strategic assistance, including access to alternative equity and debt financing.

Prior to joining Avalon Group, Mr. Ferrari was a Senior Vice President at Spencer Clarke LLC where he served as Co-Manager of the PIPE's (Private Investment in Public Equity) / Regulation D Division focusing on small & micro-cap companies.  Mr. Ferrari was previously part of the three-person investment banking team at Midtown Partners & Co.  During his tenure at Midtown they financed over ten issuers.  Mr. Ferrari focused on origination and institutional sales at Spencer Clarke and Midtown Partners.  Mr. Ferrari's previous employment includes working at Bear Stearns as an integral member of a four person sales and trading team catering to family offices, middle market institutions and hedge funds.  He holds Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses.

Mr. Ferrari studied Economics and received his B.A. while majoring in Economics from Wheaton College in MA.  He was awarded the 2006 Wheaton College Young Alumni Achievement Award.  Mr. Ferrari is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), and a board member at Sequoia Community Initiatives and Cents Ability, two New York City based non-profit organizations.  In addition to his Board positions, he dedicates his free time to volunteerism with various organizations throughout New York.

 

Michael Ma

Mike leads sales and marketing efforts at kasina. A trusted advisor to the industry, his knowledge has helped shape the strategies of dozens of leading firms.

During his tenure, Mike has built kasina to a base of over 60 asset management clients worldwide, including 18 of the 20 largest asset management firms in the United States. Mike plays an integral role in developing the firms' product development and strategic direction.

Prior to joining kasina, Mike was Senior Business Development Manager at iPhrase, a leading provider of natural language search technology before it was acquired by IBM. Before working at iPhrase, he was Business Development Manager at Trilogy Software, where he started a business unit focused on delivering content to the computer industry.

Mike is a sought-out speaker in the asset management industry. He is currently co-Chair of the Technology Committee for the National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA) and lends his expertise to such organizations as the Professional Association of Investment Communications Resources (PAICR), the Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA), the National Association of Variable Annuities (NAVA), and the Bank Insurance and Securities Association (BISA).

Mike is an honors graduate of Harvard College with a degree in Philosophy. He is also active in the New York community, and volunteers his time for causes ranging from youth violence prevention to adult education. He also acts as Treasurer and manages the day-to-day operations kasina Youth Foundation.

A bashful suburbanite, Mike lives in Tappan, NY, with his wife Katherine, son Sean, and newborn daughter Elizabeth. He is a part-time Vermonter and snowboard instructor, just in case the kasina/New York thing doesn't work out.
